I love the energy of simultaneous interpreting and thrive in this type of high-pressure environment. What I enjoy is its instantaneous nature, and seeing the results I can provide with my skills. Over the years, I have developed expertise across several niches, including European Works Councils, asylum and migration, business, marketing and medicine.
Always learning
While the language services industry is largely unregulated, I believe in the value of proper knowledge and training. In addition to my Postgraduate Diploma in Conference Interpreting, I have also passed the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) Diploma in Public Services Interpreting (English Law) and the Diploma in Translation. I have also learned a lot about culture and communication from living in Poland, Germany, France, Scotland and England.
My toolset for simultaneous interpreting
I embrace technology and consistently update my toolset. Depending on the setting, I draw upon the correct equipment to ensure the best experience for my clients. In addition, my commercial background in client services and sales administration within start-ups, media and technology allows me to merge my business experience with my linguistic skills.
Community
With over a decade of experience, I have built not only my knowledge bank, but I am also involved in the interpreting network. I am a member of the Institute of Translators and Interpreting (ITI), the National Register of Public Services Interpreters and the VKD, Germany’s professional association for conference interpreters.
