Experienced remote and on-site interpreter

I am a London-based conference interpreter and translator, working from English and Polish into German. My profession is more than a day job to me, and I feel energised when I can solve my clients’ communication headaches.

Although I specialise in conference interpreting, I can also help my clients connect with their audiences using the written word (translation). Please get in touch if you require a German translator for your document or a simultaneous interpreter for your event.

Born in Poland, raised in Germany and a long-term UK resident, I understand how to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps. Naturally curious and resourceful, I feel equally comfortable in informal settings and at high-profile events.

Conference Interpreting

I deliver consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, both in-person and remotely.I help you to understand and be understood. My experience spans topics as varied as European Works Councils, migration and asylum, medicine, international affairs, and even swimming machines.

Business Interpreting

I work with SMEs and large corporates, interpreting for in-house team development, sales training, factory visits, negotiations and speaker events.I also help law firms prepare their case notes for court appearances. In addition, many of my business clients run large events, with varied business and educational topics and an international audience.

Remote Interpreting

I have all the necessary equipment required for up-to-date remote interpreting for various types of events and scenarios. With timezones and cultural differences, and sometimes high stakes events, it’s important to be adaptable and flexible. My experience and access to technology helps me enable communication across the globe.

Public Services Interpreting

I interpret for different types of courts and legal settings – magistrates’ courts, crown courts, the Royal Courts of Justice, tribunals, civil courts, prisons, probation services, social services, solicitors’ offices and barristers’ chambers.I am also experienced in medical interpreting within private hospitals and clinics, the NHS, as well as medico-legal cases for insurance claims. In addition, I have worked extensively in mental health settings.

I specialise in press releases and reproductive medicine. The latter involves the translation of medical website content, patient brochures, consent forms and biographies. I never stop learning by continuously updating my knowledge by taking medical courses online. This includes the Introduction to Reproduction by Northwestern University on Coursera and Khan Academy’s Reproductive System Introduction course.

Clients come to me to help them with the organisation of training, language coaching and events in multilingual settings. I ensure people have all the information they need (in the appropriate languages) in the run-up to the event, during the event, and in the follow-up. I work closely with a team of event professionals, so we ensure delegates have an overwhelmingly positive experience from start to finish.

Pierogi or Pierogis 🥟 ?

Dumplings feature in cuisines all over the world, but my favourite take on these little parcels of deliciousness is our Polish national dish – pierogi. Yes, pierogi is already plural, so there is no need to add an ‘s’ at the end. Reading about “pierogis” always confuses me – you don’t say “spaghettis” or “gnocchis”

The Pod Generation

Recently, while on a long-haul flight and unable to sleep, I decided to see what the in-flight entertainment had to offer. I was looking for something light-hearted, yet engaging enough to save me from boredom. After some browsing, I discovered a Belgian-French-UK co-production entitled “The Pod Generation.” The story in a nutshell: in not such

Katharina translated multiple documents for a conference including presentations, proceedings and biographies over a period of several months. The process was seamless and communication was fantastic, so I always knew where I stood on the project and that deadlines would be met.

The end client was delighted with the result, not just the quality of the translation, but also the care and effort that had gone into reproducing non-editable text.

Katharina will continue to be one of my most reliable and trusted translators.

“I have worked with Katharina for the best part of this year, mostly on English to German translations, and some German to English translations.

The projects Katharina worked on with us were highly confidential documents with an incredibly tight deadline.

Katharina exceeded expectations on every level and demonstrated high integrity, reliability, and consistent quality throughout our working relationship. I highly recommend getting in touch with her if you are looking for a professional translator.”

I have worked with Kasia for the last 15 months, utilising her impressive linguistic skills to help make sense of archived documents, many obscure and barely legible, for an academic research project. Equally fluent translating from Polish or German into English – and vice versa when the occasion required – Kasia’s speed, reliability, accuracy and tenacity have been outstanding. She is also great fun to work with! I would not hesitate in recommending Kasia.

Over the last 4 years, we have always been satisfied with Katharina and can highly recommend her excellent work. The translations she delivers are accurate and are always of a high standard – even when projects require a quick turnaround. Katharina is always eager to get feedback so that she can continuously improve her writing in order to meet our clients’ needs. We are very glad to have Katharina in our network and can highly recommend her to any organisation looking for German and Polish translation services.

I was surprised how I could delegate to Katharina – delegating to co-workers is not something I have in the past found/find easy. Working with Katharina I also learned how to negotiate firmly but politely: it is how she negotiates – and I learned a lot from that!

Jefferson Wright, Director at Business Development Professional

You are up there with the best – six years and counting and you also come with two languages. Aside from your honesty, integrity, professionalism with (a lovely touch of good humour), I can also trust that we will have continuity, reliability and positive feedback from my clients.

Vic Kureczko, Director at Linnk Languages

Katharina helped me understand the nuances in the culture of the people she was translating. It gave me a real understanding of the market we were exploring, and our client was thrilled with the insights we managed to source. All thanks to Katharina’s great work.

Thomas Langridge, Video Content Producer at The Value Engineers

Katharina has the incredible ability to be very personable while ensuring that the work is completed in an efficient and professional way. Katharina’s great at working to tight deadlines while remaining very precise in her translations. While other translators let us down with inaccurate timecodes or translations Katharina always gave us great translations and guidelines, we knew we could trust.
